Finding work can be a long job and we need to be organised & efficient if we're to return to paid employment. Life's 3rd Phase helps you to organise your job search and its blogs and forums to keep your spirits up.

Getting up to Speed
You can't ignore IT any more but...
- ...we are the In-between Generation
- The people who came before us didn't need to confront computers or IT: those who come after us have lived with it all their lives.
- We had a choice, knuckle down and learn about it or to ignore the beast. If we made the wrong decision then there is still time to change it now. We cannot expect the world to change for our convenience

Practice what you Preach
They say that a teacher is a man who knows everything and can do nothing!
So here I am, up in London, waiting for an interview. I've done all those things I've told members to do: read down and printed their web-site, cleaned my shoes, dressed for the occasion.
I have told myself that they will decide - yes or no - in the first minute or so of the meeting so I'm prepared. It just remains to be seen whether I cut the mustard.
How did i get here?
Well I was retired suddenly and without warning, and after I got over the shock i asked myself
I'm one of you now
I didn't want to retire, or at least I didn't want to retire now.
I knew it was coming but circumstances, in fact a board coupe, brought it forward by seven months. I also knew that at the moment I can't sell my second house and I hadn't saved enough to guarantee a secure retirement so I need to work on.
So, I guess my writings on how to get a job after normal retirement now become a real excercise so I'll keep you posted on the blogs.
